His way.

Andrew loved life and the people in it unconditionally. He was kind and humble and his faith in God was strong. He believed it was not how many times you fell, it was how many times you got up.  

His love for his country and the opportunities it holds for everyone was immense. Traveling, seeing his country, being on CT shores, boating and his cabin in the PA mountains were his favorite things to do. He believed in working hard for what you have and being grateful for it. He was known for his courage, kindness, generosity, positivity, and high morals standards.

Established in 2021, this fund was created by friends and family to honor the memory of Andrew Heylmun, who passed away in December of 2020. The primary recipient of funds raised our first year was “The Andrew Heylmun Legacy Annual Scholarship” at Southern Connecticut State University. This scholarship is to honor the values and beliefs of Andrew and preference is given to student(s) who have demonstrated University or community service.  Since then the goal of our charity has been helping other local non-profit organizations and a focus on assisting children in need. This year, the primary recipient of funds raised will be for the “Child and Family Agency of Southeastern CT”.
